...in the ❤️ of Leipzig

Hello in Leipzig, welcome to my den

Affordable stay in the center, zoo, and main train station of Leipzig

- Clean and functionally furnished private guest room.
- Flexible check-in from 12pm
- Super central: 5 minutes' walk to the main train station/city center/zoo
- All public transport lines right outside the door, quick access to everywhere (15 minutes to the trade fair/airport)
- Spacious lockable room for 3 people
- Large comfortable bed (1.80 x 2 m) with plenty of legroom
- Free & fast WiFi/WLAN
- Coffee & tea included 🙃

Most of the city is reachable within walking distance. The center has numerous restaurants, cozy pubs, beer gardens, shopping, cinemas, theaters, clubs, and nightlife. The zoo is just around the corner, and behind it is Rosental Park, perfect for a walk through woods and meadows or a leisurely picnic in the park with a view of giraffe necks 🤗

All trains in all directions stop right outside the door. You can also rent a bike and cycle through the park along the canal to the lake area in the south – or switch to a canoe in between. From here, everything is as flexible as you are – the city is at your feet!

The Arena, RB Arena, Moritzbastei, Opera House, Schauspielhaus, Gewandhaus, and Festwiese are all about a 15–20 minute walk away. Everything is super quick to reach by train or S-Bahn, e.g., the trade fair, airport, and Monument "Völkerschlachtdenkmal" in 10–15 minutes.

Even closer to the center of LE? Hardly possible!

The accommodation

Hey! I'm Matthias – and I'm excited to share my “wolf's den” with you as your perfect nest in the heart of LE 🙂

Forget the boring standard apartments of shady real estate sharks – with me, you're the only guest and in good company in my home. Airbnb as it should be. Don't worry about unpleasant surprises, unwelcome other guests, or last-minute cancellations: you're booking with an experienced host – just enjoy your time, and whatever you do, I'll take care of everything to make sure it's super clean, ready, private, and just right for you.

You can expect your own bright, clean, and, considering the downtown location, very quiet and lockable guest room in my 3-bedroom apartment. The guest room is new and modernly furnished and features a huge 1.80 m wide king-size bed with nightstands, a large mirror, a closet, a small dining/work table, and super-fast WiFi. You can also darken the room completely with the curtains and blinds.

Your guest room is YOUR private nest and no one else, including me, will enter it. You won't stumble over private knick-knacks or have to be scared of children's teddy bears. There is no TV in your room, but if you need one, you can use the TV in the living room via your cell phone.

This is where you will be

Check in & Out

Check-in
Check-in is flexible and can be done anytime from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM (midnight). You can either use our key box or we can arrange a personal welcome.

Check-out
Check-out is generally at 10:00 AM. However, we're often a little flexible with this, depending on when our next guests are scheduled to arrive.

Luggage storage
Arriving early or want to explore Leipzig a bit more after you check out? There are luggage lockers available right at the train station behind the building. As another option, you can store your luggage for free at the zoo if you plan to spend your final day there before heading home.

Getting here & parking

Arrival by train:
only a 5-minute walk from the main station.

Arrival by car:
Free parking is available in the surrounding area. I will send you a location where there are usually spaces available. Otherwise, there is a parking garage at the station (€15 daily rate) where you don't have to search for a space.

Access for guests

You have access to the bathroom, which is located right next to your guest room, and a curtain separating it from the living room provides additional privacy. You also have access to the kitchen, living room, and balcony, of course. We share these rooms.

The kitchen is equipped with a Senseo coffee machine (including unlimited coffee!), dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer (usually full :)), kettle, and the usual kitchen utensils. There is no microwave. Experience has shown that most guests eat out anyway... so the kitchen is intended to serve as more than just a “breakfast kitchen” for making tea/coffee (feel free to use my supplies), making a sandwich, or putting a pizza in the oven. The refrigerator also has a small (but chargeable :)) minibar for you with water, cola, and, of course, beer.

During your stay

During the day, I work nearby, and in the evenings, I'm often at home—but very often I'm not. When I'm at home, I spend most of my time in the living room doing things. Often with Netflix—so beware, spoiler alert! If we get along, then join me for a beer or challenge me to a round of FIFA or on the retro console. Depending on my mood and how much time I have, I've also gone on pub crawls, city tours, concerts, campfires, and dinners with guests.

In general, when guests are present, I tend to stay in the background and respect it if you want some peace and quiet... even if the chemistry is right.

last but not least...

Yes, I also live here! Airbnb as it should be!

Your room is your own little private kingdom for the duration of your stay and I will not enter or use it. If you want, you can also lock it.

It's rarely rowdy here, and when there are guests, I tend to stay in the background—but every now and then, my girlfriend or friends come over for a soccer/movie night, to play games, and sometimes there's even a poker tournament with 10 people in the house. On such occasions, you are of course welcome to join in and join the fun. However, my “parties” tend to be on the quiet side, and my friends are also asked to be considerate when there are Airbnb guests, and I do the same. So you'll have peace and quiet in your room and should be able to sleep well, even if we stay up late. For those who are particularly sensitive to noise, earplugs are also available.

Otherwise, you can do whatever you want and be as loud as you like, stagger home late at night and listen to music in your room, use the shower, or have a glass of wine on your own or, if you like, with me. I'm not sensitive about these things and am happy to hear a little bit of what my guests are up to. Just please be neighborly in everything you do ;).

A completely new neighborhood is currently being built around the apartment. It's bearable, and it's quiet on weekends and at night (your room also faces the quieter side), but understandably, it's not super quiet during the day. It's a big city, after all.
